Jambo Cafe

This was our second time to Santa Fe and I wish we had found this place on our first trip. The food is so delicious and has incredible flavor. The staff is friendly and are passionate about what they do. Every dish we tried was delicious and offered a unique taste. Definitely the first food place to try when visiting Santa Fe. I will definitely be back!

Excellent food and excellent service! Our server was fast and very friendly. We loved it so much we took our friends there 2 days later. They loved it too. Pili pili shrimp, Moroccan lamb stew, lentil stew, coconut cream pie, rum pecan pie, flourless chocolate cake...one tiny drawback is that it's impossible to get in without a reservation. Will be back next year!

Excellent service, fabulous food. It is more expensive and different than normal American fare from chain restaurants but completely worth it. We went to Jambo on the advice of the locals. Sadly the restaurant was out of coconuts, so no coconut milk to drink. However, the food was delicious, there is just not enough words to describe it. Our servers were so friendly and helpful! The wait staff and cooks were especially vigilant with the food prep with allergy concerns in mind, taking care to avoid even accidental cross contamination.

Great atmosphere, Even better food. You get gourmet everything from the starter to the house made drinks, my first meal was the chicken kabobs with the couscous and cooked veggies 😋😍 too good! I've had the lamb sandwich it was seasoned perfectly and the service was outstanding!

The best way to sum this restaurant up is: WOW! Amazing food and service! My dad and brother always come here when they head out West!

Excellent food, excellent customer service! We had never eaten here, so we asked for recommendations. We were not disappointed! Everything we sampled was delicious.

Delicious! Long wait time, but worth it. The owner/head chef is a real great guy too; comes around to every table to say hi and ask how the food is. Can be a little loud and crowded at night but it’s a fun spot and the food is quality authentic and tasty. Be aware the portion sizes can run a little on the small side. And try the fries!!

I'm here in Santa Fe working for a couple of weeks,I always like to try top rated restaurants. Jamba Cafe was the Best place I've eaten so far. I had The Cinnamon dusted Plantains and Tilapia which were Excellent, tried the Mango cobbler, which was Disappointing and my Awesome Server,Jennifer gave me the Flourless Chocolate cake which was Heavenly... Santa Fe is so Lucky to have this little Gem. I Highly recommend this restaurant...

Good food, cool atmosphere. Lamb stew was delicious, as well as crusted goat cheese salad.

As a Nigerian I give this establishment 5 stars for the food and for the ambiance and service. I asked for the plantains without the cinnamon and started eating them before I took a picture. The jerk chicken wings were massacred before I remembered I was a Google guide. My goat stew was great and my partners chicken kabobs were good as well. We wished the dipping sauce was for sale but we went next door and purchased some spices before leaving. I will definitely eat here again the next time I’m in Santa Fe!

Service was great, atmosphere was casual (nice after coming off of the mountain). Food was good, not stellar. I tried the sampler (pictured) and the lamb wrap. Sampler was nice and flavorful, the wrap was awful... Ate 2 bites to give it a fair shake, but no luck

Not New Mexican cuisine. And that's why visitors and locals jam to Jambo Cafe. Tasty with sweet scents and fatty sauces that make your mouth water, the menu is simple and varied. Excellent staff with boisterous birthday greeting beats belted out so all can hear. About $100 for three people.

This place had a great vibe. It was very cold the food was delicious and the ambiance was great. We loved the chai tea which was very tasty and had a spicy finish. The food was great and in line with most food cost for lunch meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who's interested in African and Caribbean foods.

Food is very tasty, gluten-free, vegetarian choices. Good, friendly service. Easy to find with Google maps. Quaint, cozy African atmosphere.

I was a bit hesitant to try this place since I know that Caribbean foods can often lean to the sweet side, but I threw caution to the wind and crossed my fingers there would be hot sauce. Guess what? There was! Our server was super friendly when I asked for which plate leaned more toward spicy on the menu. Pili pili shrimp was his recommendation, and it was delicious! (I did have to add hot sauce, but I like spicier, stronger flavored foods). The hubs ordered the kabobs and the meat was tender and juicy. They also offer South African wines and beer from Kenya. This was a very delicious and flavorful meal. Something you definitely can't get just anywhere.

Went here for the first time tonight. Food was great! Chef/Owner came around and talked to everyone. Neat experience. The Combination Plate and the Jerk Chicken were both great dishes! Was well worth the drive.

Great menu. Very courteous staff. Restaurant gets very busy. I usually go around 11:30 so don't have to wait.

I got the combo plate and a hibiscus tea. Both were awesome! I loved the faint sweetness of the tea and I liked the combo plate because I couldn't decide between the goat stew or chicken curry. I lived how tender the meat was for the stew

Courteous staff and amazing food. It can be very crowded on Friday nights but it's worth the wait. There's usually less people throughout the week, making it a better time to visit.

I heard about Jambo Cafe from nearly a dozen people before going this past week for a business meeting. The food and service exceeded the high expectations that were already set. I had the chicken curry, and the others at the table each had a unique dish and we were all satisfied by the end of the evening. It seems to be a happening place on the weekend, so I'd probably recommend making a reservation.

Jambo never disappoints. Today we had their special rock fish, shrimp and rice dish. Wow!!!! The flavor and creation was delicious. The staff is always happy, joyful and friendly. You may want to make reservations or expect a short wait, this suggestion is for lunch and dinner. Jambo is definitely one of the best cuisines in Sant Fe.

Good food but the service quality and style really stands out. Excellent service.Jerk chicken was decent and wasn't spicy. Accompanying rice and beans was delicious. Vegetarian sandwich was good.4 stars because the place is too commercial, like charging an extra dollar for small dollop of sauce and hot water.

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service. I've never had a bad meal here, and very often I find that getting a meal here fixes up a bad day. It's one of the favorites eat out spots for me and my girlfriend. The fried plantains are a particular treat.

Don't let the location fool you, this place is absolutely delicious and soooo worth getting off the beaten (tourist) path. I try to make it a point to stop by every time I'm in town.I've tried the goat stew, the mahi mahi, and the yellow tail tuna; which are all delicious and full of so much flavor. The staff are also very knowledgeable and fun to talk to.

Pan-African. Good food, friendly staff, reasonably priced. I had the Moroccan stew - delicious, spicy, sweet. And the pecan rum pie for dessert. Enjoy!

Nestled in the college plaza strip mall between office depot and ace hardware one does not expect exotic African fare of exceptional quality. Immediately upon entering the well shaded and heavily decorated interior I was treated to the fine scents of many exotic foods and drinks. i recommend everything, though I did not get to try it all. The juices are especially interesting and delicious.

The food is sublime, everything taste authentic and the staff is on top of things. Serving sizes are fair and the atmosphere is quite lively!

The food is AMAZING. Spiced to perfection. The wings are great starter. I tried the combination and the stews are AMAZING. So much food for the price. Came back again and highly recommend it.

Very unique restaurant. The favor is so special that you don't find it anywhere else. Service is also super good but a reservation is highly recommended .

There are a lot of great options on the menu. I had the banana leaf wrapped mahi mahi. I enjoyed my meal and how friendly the staff were. The key lime pie was very limey. Other than that everything was great.

A must go. First time having African food, such a great meal. The hummus plate was delicious. The goat stew and chicken curry were awesome too. Great atmosphere, very nice staff.

You must try LAMU COCONUT PILI PILI SHRIMP. Amazing!

Cozy and warm location. Food was seasoned very different with spices. Very tasty & little hot. Service good. Plantains were wonderful. Banana coconut cream pie finished the meal off well.

Amazing food! Dinner rush starts around 7pm so get there before. However there is never a wait for a table. Friendly staff always smiling and willing to help. The food is amazing. Full of flavor and very filling.

Very good food and service. Our party of 5 loved this place and they had good menu options. I tried their combination plate with coconut chicken curry, lentil stew and goat stew. It was amazing. My vegeteranian friend loved his tofu curry as well.

Generally liked this restaurant, however the last visit was very different.The chicken salad tasted like it was drenched in hot sauce, the lamb stew didn't have much flavor. The most disappointing of all was the mango cobbler, that tasted like peaches and apples. When I asked the waiter and waitress, they were adamant it was mango. One even mentioned many customers have complained but reiterated that they didn't change anything.Hope they figure out what's going on because it feels like their quality is slipping.

Fantastic fusion. A friend and I split the phyllo, combo platter, salmon salad, and flourless chocolate cake. Everything we ordered had Wow factor. Even the Tamarind juice! We might delay our departure from Sanya Fe to get lunch tomorrow!!

Nice restaurant with African flavour. Ambience is pretty good and so is food. I loved the food. Lots of option to choose from. Service was also very good.

Went here with my friends for lunch, it was really good and affordable! The entrees are between 10 to 18 dollars each and the portions are huge. I was nervous to try this place before, so I never did. But today I wanted to give it a try. It was amazing and I'll definitely be back. We started our meal with cinnamon dusted plantains, and they were delicious. I ordered the MahiMahi, super tender and savory. My friends got a jerk chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and my other friend got chicken coconut curry with basmati rice. Everyone loved their food.

Great service. Quantity is just too much. Make sure you bring a person with you or just wait until you are super hungry to complete this delicious curries. Great vegetarian/vegan options as well.
